Managing Solaris 11 for Experienced Solaris 10 Systems Administrators
Overview
This course presents the essential differences between administrating Solaris 10 and the Solaris 11 Operating Systems. The course covers skills and tasks that are new or are changed in Solaris 11 from Solaris 10. The course also covers tasks in Solaris 11 that replace previous Solaris 10 tasks.
This hands-on course is intended to provide experienced 10 system administrators with practical experience in carrying out similar or related tasks they are currently managing but on a Solaris 11 system.
Prerequisites
Recent experience of administrating a Solaris 10 system including network configuration, SMF, ZFS and Zones.
Objectives
By the end of the course the delegate should be able to install a Solaris 11 system, manage software packages with IPS, install remote systems automatically, configure the Solaris 11 network environment, create a virtual network, manage network failover, configure SMF to report service faults automatically, assigns users administration tasks with sudo and describe other differences between Solaris 11 and Solaris 10.
