Visio Introduction

0800 1337 401

Course Objectives

Welcome to Seven Institute’s course for Microsoft Office Visio, Microsoft’s diagramming application. This new version of Visio now uses the ribbon interface. Other new features include Auto Align and Space, improved AutoConnect, many improved diagram types, and many other tools that will make creating diagrams easier.

This Introduction level is intended to help all novice computers get up to speed quickly. This course will also help more experienced users who have little to no experience with Visio and/or the ribbon interface.

This course will cover the basics of working with Visio; how to use and customize the ribbon interface; how to create a basic diagram with stencil shapes, connectors, text blocks, and freeform shapes; how to format and edit text and shapes; how to add finishing touches such as themes and page customizations; how to use Visio’s viewing tools; and how to print and e-mail a diagram. Participants will also receive a thorough introduction to the command tabs that replace the former menu and toolbar based interface.

By the end of this course, users should be comfortable using Visio on a day-to-day basis and capable of creating a basic, multi-page diagram.

Who Should Attend

This course assumes the user understands the basics of using a Windows-based computer. Students should be comfortable using the keyboard, mouse, and Start menu. Understanding and experience with printing and using a Web browser is an asset, but not required. No previous experience with other versions of Visio is necessary.
