Course Objectives

The Coaching and Mentoring course is a great introduction to the concepts of workplace Coaching and Mentoring. Coaching in the workplace is the process of getting individuals to think for themselves and solve problems by facilitating a conversation, while Mentors draw on their knowledge and experience to help others grow and develop themselves.

Who Should Attend

This course is useful for employees at all levels of the organisation from front line staff to senior managers. Senior managers may wish to attend our Coaching for Managers course. The course is ideal for people that need to influence others and are involved in mentoring at some level.

Experience Required

Participants should be interested in developing their interpersonal relationship skills. This course has no prerequisite to attend.

Course Syllabus

  • The aim of this workshop is for participants to be able to effectively use a combination of coaching and mentoring approaches / methods in order to get the most from others
  • By the end of this workshop participants will:
  • Understand the link between Coaching and Mentoring and Transformational Leadership
  • Be able to state the difference between coaching and mentoring
  • Demonstrate effective questioning and listening skills
  • Know how to use coaching for development, performance and feedback
  • Know when to adopt a coaching or mentoring approach
  • Demonstrate their coaching and mentoring skills
